Lost. It's not just an adjective to describe someone or something, it is a feeling. This sense of being unable to find our way hits us as men after trying to navigate our own way and failing. We can't get to the place we long to get to and a pervading fear creeps in that we might never get there. A hiker loses his sense of direction and after hours of walking discovers he has made a giant circle - lost. His hope begins to fade. A man loses someone he loves and what used to keep him stable and steady and hopeful is now missing - lost. His confidence in the future is vaporized. When we are lost we are disoriented and it fills us with fear. When God looks at you and I, he sees men who are prone to getting lost and needs guidance - we go astray. His solution? A clear, well lighted path that leads to life with him and others illuminated by His Words telling us where to go. Goodbye fear and hello confidence.
