Sometimes we know right away because it hurts.  Sometimes we are used to it and don't realize it until many years or decades later.  A dad left us.  A friend that betrayed us.  A business partner that stole from us.  Perhaps people abused us.  Spouses that gave up on us.  Welcome to a broken humanity.  The common denominator of all hurt is that you get sad and mad.  Most men stuff their hurts and walk around with it quietly and never talk about it until they have to, are forced to, or the pain is greater than the need to hide it any more.
