Pride messages to us that our source of authority needs to be ourselves. It says: "just listen to number one." This is problemmatic for men on many levels. First with God, second with people, and then with ALL SOURCES OF AUTHORITY placed in our lives by God. The elimination of pride changes our relationship to the sources of authority, from parents to policemen or work supervisors to Supreme Court justices. Navigating your relationship to sources of authority in your life can be tricky and very emotional.
