"Do as I say, not as I do."  Ever heard that weak and hollow encouragement?  It means they know the standard is right but their example is wrong.  They are discouraging imitation.  Jesus says the exact opposite to every man that has chosen to follow him.  He encourages imitation.  In fact, taking him SERIOUSLY is synonymous with following his example.  As with the first disciples, Jesus' example is challenging, radical, and will challenge the rules of male culture.  It is a different way of being, believing, and behaving.
